John Van Citters was a 23rd century Human man. He was a science officer who served aboard the Federation starship USS Thantos in the 23rd century.

History[]

As the Thantos mapped a group of asteroids, Van Citters weighed boredom against the clear benefits the assignment provided to the Federation, both for spotting mining resources and preventing planets from overmining, and decided the mission was worth it. (ST reference: Ships of the Line)

In 2328, as a passenger Van Citters traveled to Murasaki 312 aboard the commercial transport SS Kogin. (TNG episode: "Inheritance")

Appendices[]

Background[]

The character's full name was displayed on a computer graphic in the episode. In the absence of contradictory information, the two references were assumed to be of the same person for purposes of this wiki. As with John Van Citters Raymond and the Van Citters Physics Review, he was probably named for John Van CittersMA, long-time Vice President, Product Development at CBS Consumer Products and Vice President Star Trek Brand Management.
