John Wayne (born Marion Morrison, 26 May 190711 June 1979) was a human who lived on Earth during the 20th century. Wayne was an American actor who was best known for playing characters in military and Ancient West films.

Wayne starred in the 1956 film The Searchers, which both Nog and Vic Fontaine preferred to Shane. (DS9 episode: "It's Only a Paper Moon")

Wayne famously played Davy Crockett in the 1960 film The Alamo. (DS9 episode: "Badda-Bing, Badda-Bang")

Dr. Elizabeth Dehner compared Commander Melody Sawyer to John Wayne, crossed with Scarlett O'Hara. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)

Miles O'Brien likewise compared Cregger Lor Mowlanish Dor Crixa Tel to Wayne after meeting him in 2374. (DS9 novelization: ...Sacrifice of Angels)
