Jouret was a G class yellow star with an associated star system. It was located in the Azure sector of the Tau Dewa sector block in the Beta Quadrant and was orbited by at least four planets.

It had a magnitude of +3, making it ten times brighter than Sol. (ST reference: Star Charts)

History[]

Jouret was located in or near Romulan space until 2160, after which it became part of Federation space. (ST reference: Star Charts)

By 2366 the fourth planet, Jouret IV, was the site of the Federation's New Providence colony. In that year the colony was attacked by the Borg and destroyed. (TNG episode: "The Best of Both Worlds")

The Federation attempted to recolonize the planet, but this effort had failed by the mid-2380s. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)

The system dramatically gained in importance in 2409 with the discovery of an Iconian gateway in the outer system and was the site of a major battle between an Elachi fleet emerging from the gate and Romulan Republic, Starfleet, and Klingon Defense Force starships led by Obelisk 1. Afterward ships began traveling back and forth through the gate to the Solanae Dyson sphere in the Delta Quadrant. (STO mission: "Sphere of Influence")
