Jouret IV was a planet, the fourth planet of the Jouret star system. Jouret IV was a Federation colony world that was settled some time before the mid-24th century. (TNG episode: "The Best of Both Worlds"; ST video game: Star Trek Online)

History[]

This world was the site of the New Providence colony that was destroyed by the Borg in 2366. Starfleet investigators discovered the entire colony had been lifted from the surface of the planet. (TNG episode: "The Best of Both Worlds")

Sometime prior to 2381, Jouret IV was recolonized by the Federation, only to be utterly destroyed by the Borg Invasion of 2381. [citation needed]

A failed attempt by the Federation to recolonize Jouret IV ended in the mid-2380s. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)

At some point prior to 2409 the Federation tried again, and a starship arrived in-system to help set up the orbital infrastructure for the colony. They soon ended up having to fend off a brief Tholian attack. (STO mission: "Jouret System Patrol")

Later that year, a large Iconian gateway, big enough for starships to pass the aperture, was discovered in nearby space, and forces from Starfleet, the Klingon Defense Force, and the Romulan Republican Force, led by Obelisk 1, became embroiled in a major battle against a large Elachi fleet. (STO mission: "Sphere of Influence")
