By 2364, van Osterlich was captain of the USS Constitution. In that year, the Constitution joined the USS Enterprise in lending assistance to relief efforts on Archaria III. Van Osterlich had broad cheekbones and hair so pale, it looked white. Van Osterlich had known Captain Picard for almost twenty years, even though their careers kept them a galaxy apart.
