A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! As always, the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Strange New Worlds and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG and Star Trek Online, as well as other eventful releases such as Section 31, the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). For other uses, see Julian.

The Julian calendar was a Human civilization calendar used on Earth to track the passage time. The Julian calendar is very similar to the Gregorian calendar.

History and specifics[]

As the keepers of time-related issues in and around the Federation, the Federation Department of Temporal Investigations can readily convert to and from Julian dates.

In the 2370s decade, Clare Raymond's counseling session with Teresa Garcia was marked in Julian time and date, which was familiar to Raymond, as she had been born in the 20th century when Julian and Gregorian dates were in more active use. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)

Although the Federation ostensibly has converted away from current-day time measurement, a great many Julian and Gregorian style-dates are presented in Star Trek.
