Julius Caesar (circa 101 BCE - 15 March 44 BCE) was a Human man who lived on Earth during the 2nd and 1st centuries B.C.E. A military and political leader in Rome, he played a central role in changing the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire.
Biography[]
In the 1600s, the English playwright William Shakespeare fictionalised Caesar's relationship with Cleopatra, the last Pharaoh of Egypt, in his play Antony and Cleopatra. While visiting the USS Enterprise in 2266, Lenore Karidian commented that to Captain James T. Kirk that they were "the Caesar of the stars and Cleopatra to worship him." Shakespeare's earlier play Julius Caesar concerned his assassination. (DS9 episode: "Improbable Cause", TNG novel: Imzadi)
Caesar's quest for absolute power was compared to men who had similar goals, men such as Alexander the Great, Adolf Hitler, Genghis Khan, Napoleon Bonaparte, Maltuvis, Ferris, Krotus, and Lee Kuan. (TOS episode: "Patterns of Force")
In 2371, Julian Bashir was time shifted to 1st century BCE Rome by a Karg Empire temporal disruptor and saw Julius Caesar announce that he had defeated Gaul. Bashir called upon Mars and Saturn to look upon Caesar with divine favor, as Caesar now controlled the known world. (DS9 comic: "No Time Like the Present")
In a daydream, Starfleet Yeoman Deb Colotti imagined herself as a female Caesar while the Federation starship Enterprise headed to a much-anticipated shore leave on the Amusement Park planet. (TAS - Log Three novelization: Once Upon a Planet)
