A Jumpship, also known as a Federation Jumpship, was a small atmospheric one-man shuttle. They were used by the Federation Starfleet for emergency evacuations in the Kelvin timeline.

History[]

In 2259, Admiral Alexander Marcus had two of these jumpships target "John Harrison" when he tried to kill Marcus. Following the attack on the Kelvin Memorial Archive, Harrison had commandeered jumpship 208 and used its weapons to attack Starfleet Headquarters's Daystrom Conference Room. During the attack, Harrison killed Admiral Christopher Pike, Captain Frank Abbott and many others before Commander James T. Kirk disabled it by jamming the craft's intake port. However, just as it was crashing, Harrison, using a portable transwarp beaming device, escaped to the Ketha province on Qo'noS. Configuration[]

The pilot's cockpit was built above and forward of the jumpship's engine. Its engine had been built with an air intake and exhaust port under it. Its wings on either side could bear energy weapons with laser sights for precision aiming. The hull could also withstand phaser fire. However, according to Commander Spock, the jumpship lacked a warp drive, making it unsuitable for interstellar travel.
