Jus senatus was a type of traditional lentil soup favored by Romulans in the 23rd century.

History and specifics[]

This soup was developed prior to the founding of the Imperial Senate on Romulus.

In the year 2268, the Romulan Commander provided Nurse Christine Chapel a copy of the recipe during her stay aboard the starship USS Enterprise. Chapel adapted it for the ship's food processors, formulated using vegetables, water, bacon, onion, garlic, carrots, celery, beef broth, salt, and pepper. (TOS reference: Official Cooking Manual)
