The D7C-class (known in Klingonaase as the K't'kara-class, literally translated, Bringer of Destiny-class) was one of the early series of D7 class Klingon Empire battlecruiser starships in Klingon Imperial Fleet use around the time of the 23rd century.

History and specifications[]

This type of ship was one of the intermediate series between the original D7 designs and the later K't'inga-class refits. (FASA RPG module: Klingon Ship Recognition Manual)

The D7C was eventually purposed as a command battlecruiser. Vessels of this type were commonly named for poetic interpretations of killings, usually translating with the world "slayer". (ST video game: Starfleet Command, ST video game: Starfleet Command II: Empires at War, ST video game: Starfleet Command: Orion Pirates)

One variation is the Fire Blossom, which was named for Kaden's spectacular killing of a rival attack cruiser with a carefully timed triggering of a solar eruption. (TOS - Worlds Apart novel: How Much for Just the Planet?)

By the 2280s and 2290s decades, these vessels had been modified to specifications making them externally identical to the K't'inga-class battlecruiser. The D-7C vessels were commonly modified and refit to the specifications of the D7L class K't'inga variant vessels. One other specific modification was made for the Dawnslayer, refit as a D7CT class tactical command battlecruiser. (ST video game: Starfleet Command, ST video game: Starfleet Command II: Empires at War, ST video game: Starfleet Command: Orion Pirates)
