K.W. Jeter is a science fiction author, one of the forerunners of the the "cyberpunk" genre, and the author of three pieces of Deep Space Nine.
Jeter's two original Star Trek novels were generally met with negative reviews. N-Vector, on the other hand, is met with more acceptance. Warped was the only Deep Space Nine hardcover published until Unity and was met with a great deal of controversy at its release since its themes were much darker than what was seen in Star Trek at the time. This controversy faded somewhat as Deep Space Nine itself began to take on darker themes.
