The KDC Samsar was a Kobali starship, the Samsar-class prototype in defense force service in the 25th century. It was designed and built after the Kobali joined the Delta Alliance in their war against the Vaadwaur Supremacy. The ship's commanding officer was Hanchon Jetanian. (STO - The Delta Quadrant mission: "Dust to Dust")

History

The Samsar was built in orbit of Kobali Prime, the adopted new homeworld of the Kobali, and launched in 2410. Soon after the defeat of the Vaadwaur, the revived corpse of a version of Ensign Harry Kim awoke as Keten, a newy transformed Kobali. Keten retained most of his memories, dating back to his time on the Federation starship USS Voyager in 2372. Thus, Keten did not give in to becoming a Kobali and tried to evade Captain Harry Kim, Jhet'leya and another Alpha Quadrant Alliance commander on Kobali Prime. Eventually, Keten escaped onto the Samsar and attempted to rendezvous with Voyager. The Samsar was apprehended by a band of Hirogen who were not part of the Delta Alliance, and the AQA vessel pursuing the Samsar defended the rogue ship from the Hirogen. The boarding party, including Captain Kim, Jhet'leya and the AQA commander, cornered Keten on the bridge, and convinced him to accept his new identity. Jhet'leya promised Keten he would even have the chance to rejoin Starfleet if he wished. (STO - The Delta Quadrant mission: "Dust to Dust")

The Samsar entered active duty and spawned a successful ship class, including the KDC Manusi, which fought in the Iconian War. (STO - Iconian War mission: "Midnight")
