In an alternate reality, Kai was a 23rd century Orion man, a Starfleet Lieutenant aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise. He was considered one of the Enterprise 's best fighters.
History
In 2259, Kai flew a shuttle and accompanied Capt. Kirk and the landing party to New Vulcan to help Cmdr. Spock with his pon farr condition. (TOS - After Darkness comics: "Part 1", "Part 2", "Part 3")
