For other uses, see Kali.

Kali was a 23rd century QuchHa' Klingon woman. She was a member of the Klingon Defense Force who served as a lieutenant commander aboard the IKS Klothos with her husband, Commander Kor, son of Rynar.

She was a dead shot, well-trained, capable and intelligent. (TOS novel: The Tears of the Singers)

History[]

Kali was descended from Klingons who were afflicted with the Qu'Vat virus, resulting in her lacking the species' characteristic forehead ridges. (ENT episodes: "Affliction", "Divergence")

She joined the Klingon Defense Force thanks to having a male sponsor. Circa 2268, Kali began serving with Kor. (TOS novel: The Tears of the Singers)

In 2269, the Klothos and the USS Enterprise became trapped in the Delta Triangle, passing into the realm of Elysia. While Kor pretended to work together with Captain James T. Kirk to effect an escape, Lieutenant Kali planted a small bomb in the main computer room of the Enterprise. Although the device detonated as planned, it was ineffective, as the starship crew were warned about it by psionic Elysian councillor Magen. (TAS episode & Log Four novelization: The Time Trap)

In 2269 or 2270, after serving with Kor for a year and a half, Kali married him out of love, later telling him that she could have married a fleet admiral if she were only interested in ambition. They also visited a wine garden together on Klinzhai.

Five months later, in 2270, Lieutenant Commander Kali beamed down with a landing party to Taygeta V for a mission to investigate a spacial disruption near Klingon space. She sneaked out of her encampment to study the Human team from the Enterprise, sharing coffee with Nyota Uhura. She was assaulted by a group of civilian human hunters, managing to injure one before Kor scattered them with disruptor fire. Despite the incident, she found herself appreciating the Taygetians and intuiting correctly that their singing had something to do with the spacial disruption. (TOS novel: The Tears of the Singers)

In 2270, during an encounter with Decepticons on Cygnus VII, Kaz, Kali and Commander Kuri allied with Megatron. (TAS - Star Trek vs. Transformers comic: "Prime's Directive, Part One")

The timetable is unclear whether Kali and Kor were married during the events of "The Time Trap". She may or may not be the mother of Kor's children Rynar and D'kar.
