Kang's Summit was a location on Qo'noS, a mountain in the Imperial Hunting Grounds in the Ketha Province. (DS9 episode: "In Purgatory's Shadow", ST reference: Hidden Universe Travel Guide: The Klingon Empire)

Significance and location[]

Kang's Summit lay inside the Imperial Hunting Grounds, an area primarily reserved for hunting for members of the Klingon High Council and the Klingon Defense Force. The area surounding Kang's Summit was suitable for hunting lIngta' and the more elusive and more dangerous 'elth SIQ or saber bear. (ST reference: Hidden Universe Travel Guide: The Klingon Empire)

Mimyab trees grow on the summit. (ST - New Worlds, New Civilizations short story: "A Warrior's Path")

Kang's Summit lay to the east of the Tlhlngtuj Mountains, separated from them by the Kintak Jungle. The province's metropolitan center was Ketha City, situated south of Kang's Summit, with the Ketha Lowlands found further south. (ST reference: Hidden Universe Travel Guide: The Klingon Empire)

History[]

In 2257, Kang's Summit appeared on a holographic globe of Qo'noS reviewed by Admiral Katrina Cornwell and the senior staff of USS Discovery. (DSC episode: "The War Without, The War Within")

In 2371, Martok was captured by the Dominion and replaced by a Changeling while hunting sabre bear on Kang's Summit. (DS9 episode: "In Purgatory's Shadow")

Kahless II visited the area in 2375 as he researched Martok's character. The Emperor encountered mimyab trees growing there. (ST - New Worlds, New Civilizations short story: "A Warrior's Path")

Kang's Summit appeared on a map in the 2387 edition of a Federation-produced Qo'noS travel guide. (ST reference: Hidden Universe Travel Guide: The Klingon Empire)
