Kanjis was a Klingon man who was the father of Kahless the Unforgettable and the supposed father of Morath. (TNG novel: Kahless)

Biography[]

According to legend, Kanjis lived an isolated existence and trained both his sons over the course of their adolescence but was killed during a heated argument with Morath that broke out while his other child watched on, leaving Kahless to cradle the lifeless corpse of his father. Later, after executing his brother, Kahless set fire to the residence that Kanjis had devoted his life to building, quietly apologising to his deceased sire, but swearing to restore honour to the Klingon people. (TNG episode: "Birthright", DS9 episode: "The Sword of Kahless", ST comic: "Klingons")
