Kantare was a class M planet in the 37 Geminorum star system in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant, the homeworld of the Kantare civilization. (ST reference: Star Charts)

History and specifics[]

Kantare's was settled around 2224. It's primary industry is the mining of turanium, a key element in the manufacture of warp cores, which is mined from the three small moons of the planet. The main industry on the planet itself is of agricultural nature. By 2284 Kantare has a population of 3 billion and limited space-faring capabilities. It was headed by governor Vladis with a board of supervisors elected every four years. (ST video game: Tactical Assault, Mission 2)

In the year 2382, Doctor Naadri was on a transport ship to Kantare but had not logged in at the spaceport because he went to meet Vard near Rakon IV. (DTI novel: Watching the Clock)
