Karen Andrews was a female human Starfleet officer in the 25th century. (STO mission: "Second Wave")

Biography[]

By 2409 Andrews held the rank of commander, and was assigned to starbase Deep Space 9 as its first officer under Captain James Kurland.

During the tumultuous events of that year, DS9 hosted an international conference on the mounting threat of the Borg, attended by representatives of the Federation, the Klingon Empire, the Cardassian Union, and the Deferi. Andrews held command in Ops while Kurland attended the conference.

A sudden attack by Dominion forces through the Bajoran wormhole interrupted the conference and Andrews commanded the station's defense grid during the subsequent battle for control of the station. She was among the last of the Starfleet personnel to evacuate the station, but before she could do so, First Kar'ukan beamed directly into Ops and killed her with a blow to the back from his kar'takin. (STO mission: "Second Wave")

Trivia[]

Andrews had a strong Scottish accent. (STO mission: "Second Wave")

Andrews is voiced by Stella Quinn in Star Trek Online. Quinn also voices Mesi Achebe and Farek.

Like all Starfleet NPCs Andrews' appearance was updated in 2014. Her prior uniform was replaced with the "Odyssey" style, and she was given a more aged facial appearance.
