For other uses, see Karg.

The Karg are a civilization of sapient insectoid lifeforms native to a location distant from the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. (DS9 - Ultimate Annual comic: "No Time Like the Present")

The Karg Empire was at the height of its powers around the time of Earth's Trojan War. Akin to Earth' s Roman Empire, it continously expanded its territory. That all changed when it attempted to conquer the Bajoran and Cardassian races, who fought back against the Karg. The Karg Empire collapsed, and the Karg race became a fringe race, but endured into the 24th century. The Karg used a temporal disruptor to alter time in their favor, but it was sent back into Bajor's past to keep it out of their hands. (DS9 - Ultimate Annual comic: "No Time Like the Present")
