Karn was a Zeltok man, was the last surviving Zeltok on the planet Zeltok in the 15th century.
History[]
In the 15th century, Karn survived invasions of Zeltok ants that slaughtered the rest of his people. He was rescued by Zeltok gorillas, and lived with them in their fortress.
In 1465, after time traveling from the 23rd century, James T. Kirk, Spock, Sankey and Joe Wells visited the planet in the Galileo and met Karn. When phalanxes of ants attacked the fortress, Galileo fired missiles to keep the ants at bay, but it was a losing battle. Kirk tried to convince Karn to leave with the landing party, but he preferred to die fighting alongside the apes. (TOS comic: "Vibrations in Time")
