Karrig was a Federation ambassador.
Karrig once worked with Edward Jellico during negotiations with the Cardassians. In 2371, Envoy Bannik traveled to Deep Space 9, where he was to help Karrig make first contact with the Scythians. Bannik discovered Karrig had been murdered and Odo soon began a criminal investigation. Bannik considered Karrig to be the best ambassador in the Federation for dealing with first contact missions.
