Kawhye is a fictional Goeg hero from a popular series of historical novels who traveled the wilder regions of old Goega, riding his gaat Windracer, fighting villains and saving the downtrodden.
Commander Laspas was a noted fan of Kawhye series, having been introduced to them by his father. He kept his father's collection in his quarters as a reminder of him. In 2267, he even confessed to Captain James T. Kirk that he on occasion had a flight of literary allusion to his hero during his missions while commanding Starvessel 814.
