Obrien kayaking DS9

Miles O'Brien prepares to go kayaking in the holosuites in 2373.

Kayaking was a water sport enjoyed on Earth.

Miles O'Brien had a holographic Kayaking program that he used on the USS Enterprise and Deep Space 9. O'Brien enjoyed the program, but often dislocated his shoulder when the currents became rough. Odo also participated in kayaking with O'Brien. (TNG episode: "Transfigurations", DS9 episodes: "Heart of Stone", "The Adversary", "Change of Heart", "Inquisition")

In 2372, O'Brien was kayaking in a holographic reproduction of the Colorado River when he discovered that the crew of Deep Space 9 had combined the holosuite program with Julian Bashir's secret agent holoprogram. (DS9 - Prophecy and Change short story: "Broken Oaths")

Prynn Tenmei liked to kayak. She once used a holosuite program that recreated the Kingman River on Izar to go kayaking for a weekend. (ST - The Fall novel: A Ceremony of Losses)
