Kaylee Chao was a Human Starfleet crewman in the 23rd century. As of the year 2267, she was assigned aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise.
Chao had been in a warp monitoring station when the Taarpi attacked. During the attack, Chao was struck by an electroplasma discharge that inflicted second-degree burns across her chest and abdomen. One of the last injured crewmembers to be discharged, Chao thanked Nurse Christine Chapel for her hospitality. (TOS novel: The Shocks of Adversity)
