For the mirror universe counterpart, see Ke Hovath (mirror).
See Ke for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

Ke Hovath (2345-2376) was a Bajoran male who lived in Sidau village in Hedrikspool Province. He became the sirah of his village following the death of the old sirah and a brief stint by Chief Miles O'Brien at that post. (DS9 episode: "The Storyteller")

Biography[]

In the year 2375, O'Brien recalled himself and Julian Bashir fighting off Hovath. (DS9 episode: "What You Leave Behind")

First Splinter timeline[]

By the mid-2370s decade, Hovath had written several obscure academic research articles on the nature of the Bajoran wormhole and the Sidau Orb fragment, most of which were contrary to his faith. One of these was Speculations on the Architecture of the Celestial Temple, which theorised the wormhole could also be used to travel between realities.

In 2376 Iliana Ghemor used a Besinian ship to destroy Sidau and kidnap Hovath and his wife Ke Iniri. Intendant Kira Nerys wanted to know more about the research Hovath had been undertaking, taking Ke and his wife aboard the freighter. (DS9 novels: Bajor: Fragments and Omens, The Soul Key)

Hovath was later forced into a shuttlecraft that cloaked before leaving the Besinian ship. Ghemor brought Ke to Harkoum, where she forced him to wear the paghvaram and demonstrate its power. Nothing happened, leading Ke to believe that he was no longer worthy to wear it. With Ke now useless to her, Ghemor shot and killed him. (DS9 novel: The Soul Key)

This character's death occurred in the First Splinter timeline. In the prime timeline, events unfolded differently, meaning this person might not have died at that point, or that they died in a different manner.

Hovath's articles were downloaded by Taran'atar and along with other data found in his computer system, led Major Cenn Desca to conclude that Taran'atar may have been involved with the massacre of the Sidau village ten weeks prior. (DS9 novel: Warpath)
