Kel-M was a 23rd century Archernarian who served in government as First Minister to the High Administrator on the world-ship Archernar IV.

Biography[]

In 2264, Kel-M was the first one to speak when a Federation first contact team landed a shuttlecraft in their capital city. He admitted to Elizabeth Cassady that in their culture, it was an early great lesson to learn about other stars and planets. During a feast celebrating first contact, Kel-M shared films with the landing party such as Battles of See-N which showcased their violent heritage. (TOS - Mission's End comic: "Issue 1")

As the High Administrator came to focus on his world becoming a member of the Federation, Kel-M, other senior advisors, and even the High Administrator's son disagreed with him. When Captain James T. Kirk and the USS Enterprise returned to Archernar IV in 2270, Kel-M launched a revolution. His first act was firing the world-ship's Omega-weapon to destroy the Archernar IV contact station, leaving a microsingularity in its wake. Kirk rammed Columbus into the capital city, saving the life of the High Administrator but inadvertently killing Kel-M. (TOS - Mission's End comic: "Issue 2")
