Kenneth Branagh (born 10 December 1960) was a British actor who lived during the 20th and 21st centuries. He was well known for his performances in adaptations of Shakespearean plays.
After performing Act IV, Scene I of Henry V on the USS Enterprise-D's holodeck in 2366, Lt. Commander Data told Captain Jean-Luc Picard that he planned to study the performances of Branagh, Laurence Olivier, Shapiro and Kullnark as Henry V in further his understanding of both the character and the play. However, Picard advised against it, claiming that he should discover Shakespeare through his own performance rather than by imitating others. (TNG episode: "The Defector")
