The Kepler was a Federation shuttlecraft in service to Starfleet in the 23rd century. The shuttle was assigned to the starship USS Enterprise in late 2260s.
Service history[edit | edit source]
In 2270, Lieutenant Jimmy Clayton landed Kepler on the planet Gateway to deliver a security detachment assigned to prevent Klingons from gaining access to the Guardian of Forever. The shuttle was accompanied by the Caroline Herschel, which brought down a second team of security officers. Both teams reboarded their shuttles and retreated at Spock's warning. Clayton witnessed the IKS Gr'oth crash into the Guardian. (TOS - Crucible novel: Provenance of Shadows)
James T. Kirk watched Kepler's sensor logs of the crash while recuperating in an infirmary at Starbase 10. (TOS - Crucible novel: The Star to Every Wandering)
- The shuttle's class was not specified.
