The Kharah were aquatic predators that were native to the planet Romulus. They were small, sleek with a blue-grayish skin and dorsal spines as well as fins.

Emperor of the Romulan Star Empire Shiarkiek kept several Kharah in a pool within the Imperial Palace where he would feed them live small creatures. (TOS novel: Vulcan's Heart)
