Kieran Duffy was a male Human in Starfleet, born in 2332.

Early life[]

His mother was called Christa Duffy and his sister was called Amy Duffy. Duffy knew by age seven that he wanted to travel to the stars. He gained a love of flying when he was given a pair of gravity boots by his Uncle Jim for his sixteenth birthday. Not long after, he collided with a tree and broke his collarbone, leading to his mother confiscating his boots for a month.

Duffy was given a pet dog, named Alexander, at age nine. The animal proved too willful to be contained in the Duffys' backyard, and was given to the owners of an apple orchard.

Duffy entered Starfleet Academy circa 2350. A year later, his father passed away. (SCE eBook: Wildfire, Book 2)

USS Enterprise[]

Lieutenant (j.g.) Duffy joined the crew of the USS Enterprise-D in early 2364 during that ship's initial shakedown cruise. He was promoted to full Lieutenant in 2368. (SCE eBook: Many Splendors)

During his time on the Enterprise, he struck up a romantic relationship with Sonya Gomez. The relationship ended in 2368 when Gomez transferred to the USS Oberth. (SCE eBook: Invincible, Part One)

USS da Vinci[]

By 2374, Duffy had been promoted to Lieutenant Commander, and was assigned to the Starfleet Corps of Engineers, serving aboard the USS da Vinci as second officer under Captain David Gold and Commander Salek. (SCE eBooks: The Belly of the Beast, War Stories, Book 2)

Following the death of Salek in 2376, Commander Gomez was assigned as his replacement, and was reunited with Duffy. After some initial uneasiness, they renewed their romantic relationship. (SCE eBook: Invincible, Part Two)

A few months after, Duffy proposed marriage, but, before Gomez would give him her answer, the da Vinci found itself crippled within the atmosphere of gas giant planet Galvan VI. Duffy volunteered for the mission to save the ship, and was killed in the successful effort. He was posthumously awarded the Federation Medal of Honor for his actions at Galvan VI. (SCE eBooks: Wildfire, Book 1, Wildfire, Book 2)

Duffy initially appeared in TNG episode: "Hollow Pursuits". He was given his first name in The Belly of the Beast.

Alternate versions[]

In an alternate universe accessed by an interdimensional Androssi device, Duffy survived into late 2376. At that time, he was assigned as an exchange officer to the Bajoran assault vessel Li, where he served as chief engineer under Captain Kira Nerys. During a mission to open the Bajoran wormhole, Duffy proposed to Sonya Gomez, and she accepted. (SCE eBook: Lost Time)
