- VOY episode: "Bride of Chaotica!" – Planet X was recreated on USS Voyager's holodeck and experienced as a real place by visiting photonic aliens in 2375.
- VOY - Strange New Worlds V short story: "The Difficulties of Being Evil" – Chaotica visits a planet to obtain plants for use in a mind control weapon.
Background[]
- The story was set after The Adventures of Captain Proton, Chapter 18: "The Bride of Chaotica", as Chaotica had improved his defenses since then by assigning Lizard People to guard underground passageways leading to his Fortress of Doom.
- Proton cited prior adventures with Arkenians, sand sharks on Andromeda Prime, and an ice dragon from Zatonia. Their most recent battle was with a giant crocodile.
- Flash Gordon fought a snow dragon in the 1939 comic strip The Ice Kingdom of Mongo and an ice dragon in the 1966 comic The Ice Monster by Al Williamson, later reprinted in paperback with a Gil Kane cover. He encountered shark men in the 1936 strip "On the Planet Mongo" and in an animated series developed by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens, and even rode a shark on the cover of Troubled Waters, a Whitman Publishing Flash Gordon comic written by John Warner.
