For other uses, see Kinjun.

Kinjun was star, a blue class B star with an associated system. The Kinjun system was located in the Bajor sector and Beta Ursae sector block of the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. Kinjun hosted six planets and was controlled by the Cardassian Union. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Kinjun System Patrol")

Location[]

This system was located within the Bajor sector, one of three sectors - including the Cardassia and Draylon sectors - assigned to the Beta Ursae sector block. The Bajor sector was located between 40 and 80 lightyears from Sol. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Kinjun System Patrol")

History[]

To the Bajorans, a kinjunwas an animal lifeform, a sort of bird living in Kendra Province on Bajor. These were small, black creatures who made quite a lot of chatter. (ST - New Worlds, New Civilizations short story: "A Walk in the Path of the Emissary")

The Kinjun system contained six systems. The Cardassians had colonized Kinjun III, a class L planet, by the 25th century. The eastern landmass was home to approx. 470.000 residents in the 2400s decade.

Astronomers debated whether to recategorize four planets as rogue bodies because they orbited the Kinjun star from far away.

In the year 2409, an Allied away team visited Kinjun III and investigated unfamiliar energy sources on the eastern landmass. (STO - Cardassian Struggle mission: "Kinjun System Patrol")
