Klein class

In the mirror universe, the Klein class was a 29th century Terran Empire starship type, a tier 6 temporal destroyer class in Imperial Starfleet service in the latter half of the 2800s. It was an evolution of the tier 5-rated Mobius-class timeship and the counterpart of the primary universe's Verne-class temporal science vessel. History and specifications[]

In the year 2410, the Ferengi-operated Lobi Crystal Consortium acquired additional 29th century starships, including the Klein-class temporal destroyer. The Ferengi made this technology available to commanding officers of the Khitomer Alliance, for a prize. (STO website: Emergence: The Evolution of the Infinity Lock Box)

Following the conclusion of the Temporal Wars, time travel was outlawed and relevant technology destroyed. This occurred before the Burn in 3069. (DSC episode: "That Hope Is You, Part 1")

By 3189, there had been no crossing between the mirror and primary universe in 500 years. (DSC episode: "Die Trying")

However, 29th century Imperial Starfleet sent personnel and ships back to 2409 to aid Admiral Leeta in defeating the Iconians and ensuring history would come to pass. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Message from Another Universe")

Livery[]

In the 25th century, the design of the Klein-class temporal allowed its commanding officer to choose from different designs of livery, which could be modified further at starbases. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Furthermore, the installation of deflector shields from specific factions modified the hull appearance, including shields from the Reman Resistance, the Breen Confederacy and the Dominion. (STO missions: "Coliseum", "Cold Storage", "Boldly They Rode")

Additional hull options became available if the ship's commanding officer had access to an Epoch-class shuttle, as well as other 29th century timeship classes. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
