Klingon Chancellor

Klingon Chancellor, subdued.

In the Kelvin timeline, a male 23rd century Klingon served as the Chancellor of the High Council of the Klingon Empire in the early 2260s decade. (TOS - The Khitomer Conflict comic: "Part 4")

History[]

Battle of Narendra[]

Dozens of the Chancellor's finest warriors were destroyed in a single ambush at Narendra. Leading a squadron from a Centurion-class, General Bervas reclaimed the Narendra system for the Romulan Star Empire. The prestige he earned enabled Bervas to become Praetor of the Romulan Star Empire. (ST video game: Fleet Command, Centurion ship description)

Incursions on Qo'noS[]

This chancellor's prestige was weakened when Humans from the Federation succeeded in reaching the surface of Qo'noS twice in short order without the Klingon Defense Force being able to prevent it. On both occasions, Starfleet Captain James T. Kirk played a prominent role. Both situations were instigated by Section 31.

When Section 31 troops mounted a ground offensive stage during the Battle of Qo'noS between KDF enhanced vessels and Romulan Star Empire enhanced warbirds. The Humans attacked the First City and took the Klingon leadership hostage. In the ruins of the Great Hall of Qo'noS, they were left bound and kneeling on the floor.

Captain Kirk intervened when Section 31 operative Yuki Sulu aimed a phaser at the Chancellor. After the Romulans had defeated the KDF in orbit, Section 31 destroyed their fleet, and the Federation forces retreated. This ended the Khitomer Conflict, leaving the Klingon Empire angry but too vulnerable to start another war. (TOS - The Khitomer Conflict comic: "Part 4")

Succession[]

In the year 2262, an energy ring gave General Chang, commanding officer of the IKS Muqtovor, powers of the emotional spectrum. Able to create light constructs based on fear, Chang returned from a confrontation with Captain Kirk to Qo'noS, killed the Klingon leadership, and installed himself as Emperor of the Klingon Empire. (TOS - The Spectrum War comic: "Issue 2")

In the same year, Gorkon served as Chancellor of the Klingon Empire. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
