Koorn

Koorn.

Koorn was a planet located somewhere in the Alpha or Beta Quadrant. It orbited a G-type star, six light-years from Loor-sskaawra.

Geography[]

Millennia ago, the planet housed a viable environment. After the intercine Tseetsk's war, the planet was rendered near uninhabitable. The planet is an arctic world, undergoing a period of major glaciation or ice age. It is a glittering ball with enormous white ice caps covering much of what would normally have been temperate zones. An enormous scar angled across one continent, then disappeared into the ice mass.

History[]

10,432 years ago, Koorn was the homeworld of the Kraaxaa-Tseetsk. During the war amongst the Tseetsk, the Sree-Tseetsk directed an asteroid on Koorn. The resulting impact caused tremendous volcanic activity and enough dust and debris clouding the atmosphere to lower the planet’s mean temperature and trigger glacial growth.

By the 24th century, the Sree-Tseetsk established a base on Koorn to re-terraform the abandoned world using human slave labor. In 2360 the human penal colony was stumbled upon by the USS Enterprise. After making free human starship, the human slaves led by Ianrni Koban launched a rebellion against the overseers and the Tseetsk regent. (TNG novel: Chains of Command)
