Koren Anastas was a 24th century Starfleet officer, a captain who gained fame for diplomatic and military excellence on a number of occasions. She was the most decorated and heroic female Captain in Starfleet history, in the tradition of Garth of Izar.
Biography[]
Anastas first became interested in the space exploration while studying history in her teens. At Starfleet Academy, she become one of its most successful tacticians and finest officers when she graduated. She then spent her adult life on exploring space. She developed some proficiency in Romulan language and Klingonaase.
In her time as a Starfleet captain, she had many accomplishments. She successfully defended a Federation convoy against four Ferengi battlecruisers with a brilliant display of tactics. In that display, she was to cripple 3 of the Ferengi battlecruisers with no loss of Federation lives. She was then decorated for her peaceful negotiations that led to surrender of the Klingon renegade fleet of Natabor. She was also decorated for her successful occupation of the last major Orion pirate outposts on Matacai in October 2360.
She then became Commandant of Starfleet Academy. Before retiring to serve as a cultural attache to Andor, she served as a special assistant for Starfleet Command.

- Anastas was said to be 55, with the prep school accident occurring when she was 15. A birth year of 2309 assumes the the in-universe Officer's Manual was published in 2364.
