Korolev Crater is a meteorite impact crater, a landmark on Luna.

History and specifics[]

The crater is 437 kilometers in diameter and located in the moon's southern hemisphere at coordinates 4.0° S latitude and 157.4° W longitude.

The crater is situated between the settlements of Nightside and Relativity, west of Hertzprung Crater. (Last Unicorn RPG module: Starfleet Academy "Luna Planetary Index")

The crater was named for Soviet space probe and rocket engineer Sergei Korolev, likely honored in Starfleet with the USS Korolev (NCC-2014), USS Korolev (Akira-class), and the 24th century Korolev-class starships.
