Krall's base was a encampment inside a crater on Altamid.

History

This base was built by the USS Franklin's Captain, Balthazar Edison after it crash-landed on Altamid in 2164. The base was constructed by a drone workforce and ships that were left behind by the indigenous race, which were discovered by Edison, who renamed himself "Krall". Along with Jessica Wolff and Anderson Le, who renamed themselves "Kalara" and "Manas", Krall used the encampment to hold prisoners from captured ships and used them for their Energy transference to prolong their lives for the next century. (TOS movie: Star Trek Beyond)

Kelvin timeline

In the Kelvin timeline, two of the prisoners, Jaylah and her father made their escape from the base. However, only Jaylah was able to escape and her father was then killed by Manas. In 2263, Krall, Manas, and their drones then took the surviving crew of the USS Enterprise to find the Abronath and continue prolonging his and Manas's life. The base then came under attack by Captain James T. Kirk, Commander, Spock, Dr. Leonard McCoy and Jaylah in order rescue the remaining crew. Despite this, Krall and most of his drones then left to carry out their main attack on Yorktown Station while Manas tried to fight Jaylah and Kirk. After Spock and McCoy got the crew back to the Franklin, Jaylah and Kirk left as Manas fell to his death.(TOS - Boldly Go comic: "Issue 5"; TOS movie: Star Trek Beyond)
