Kraus was a Human man, the chief engineer of the USS Venture in the 2270s.
He spoke English with heavy German accent. He was tall and kept his blond hair in a crew cut.
History[]
In February 2274, while the Venture was being serviced at the Hus-24 drydock, Krauss met USS Enterprise officers James T. Kirk, Spock, Leonard McCoy and Montgomery Scott for a senior officers' dinner aboard the Venture. He was joined by fellow officers Morgan Avery, Hathoz, and Doctor Wu, all of whom wore dress uniforms. They ate Rigellian tarpon and plomeek soup.
After repairs were completed, Husians commandeered both starships. Both crews were incapacitated with morpheum sleeping gas. Male and female personnel were separated, with Kraus and the other men sent to a tritanium mine. Together they eventually escaped and were able to overcome the Husians. (TOS comic: "Husian Gambit")
