Krios Prime, Krios III or just Krios was the prime planet of the Krios system and a subject world of the Klingon Empire. It was the homeworld of the Kriosian civilization.
- According to ST reference: Star Trek Encyclopedia, Krios Prime (the homeworld of the Kriosians) and Krios (the Klingon colony) are the same planet. On the other hand, StarTrek.com treats them as separate planets that share the same name. In accordance with the Encyclopedia, in ST video game: Infinite, the Krios system with planet Krios Prime is under Klingon control at the beginning of the game.
It was the third planet of the system and had two moons: Krios III-A and Krios III-B. (ST video game: Klingon Academy; ST video game: Infinite)
History and specifics[]
In 2367, its governor, Vagh, accused the Federation of aiding the planet's rebels, who were fighting for independence from Klingon rule. However, it was eventually revealed that the Romulans were aiding the rebels with the help of Ambassador Kell. (TNG episode: "The Mind's Eye")
The planet was at war with Valt Minor until 2368, when Kamala was married to Chancellor Alrik. (TNG episode: "The Perfect Mate")
First Splinter timeline[]
In 2381, Krios was conquered by the Holy Order of the Kinshaya for three months, until it was liberated by the Fifth Klingon Battle Fleet under General Klag. (ST novel: A Singular Destiny)
