Krios system

The Krios system is a star system in the space of the Klingon Empire, located in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant.

History and specifics[]

The Krios system consists of one G class yellow star. (ST reference: Star Charts)

The system's star was orbited by five planets. (ST video game: Klingon Academy, ST video game: Infinite). The third planet was Krios Prime, homeworld of the Kriosian civilization. (ST video game: Infinite; TNG episode: "The Perfect Mate")

According to ST reference: Star Trek Encyclopedia, Krios Prime (the homeworld of the Kriosians) and Krios (the Klingon colony) are the same planet. On the other hand, StarTrek.com treats them as separate planets that share the same name. In accordance with the Encyclopedia, in ST video game: Infinite, the Krios system with planet Krios Prime is under Klingon control at the beginning of the game.

K'tark mapped this system near the periphery of Klingon territory in the general vicinity of Valt and Ikalia on his 2266 Imperial Klingon Empire star chart. (ST reference: Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library)

The system was near to the 23rd century Klingon Empire border with the Federation-Klingon Neutral Zone. (ST video game: Klingon Academy)

Sometime prior to the 2256, the Krios system and the planets within the system were conquered by the Klingons. It was part of the Klingon Empire until at least 2367. (TNG episode: "The Mind's Eye"; DSC episode: "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad")

The Krios Station starbase was located in the system. (ST video game: Infinite)

By 2399 it was no longer under Klingon control and was considered a neutral system. (PIC episode: "Maps and Legends")
