Krox vestai-Drexa was a 23rd century Klingon man of the Human fusion race who served in the Klingon Defense Force.
Biography[]
Krox was born in the late 2230s decade to the Drexa House, a citizen of the Klingon Empire, and was a first or second cousin to the Linehead. He took intensive studies in interrogation, Klingon history, Klingon psychology, and marksmanship. Fluent in Galacta, he was also qualified in administration, deflector shield technology, Human psychology, diplomacy, and planetary survival. He was private, but listened well and had a calm demeanor.
He started out serving as an engineer, but was transferred to the Imperial Exploration/Colonization Branch, where he worked in the Triangle sector. He was promoted after navigating challenging politics with the Imperial Klingon States. (FASA RPG module: Conflict of Interests)
In the year 2268, on reference stardate 2/09, he was assigned as Prefect and Colony Development Leader for the 200 who settled in the city of Continuity on the Human/Klingon colony of Sheridan's World. (FASA RPG modules: Conflict of Interests, Star Trek IV Sourcebook Update)
Among Klingon colonists, he ranked highly in charisma. By the 2280s, he had attained the rank of lieutenant commander. He found himself liking the posting, even respecting the Human colonists.
Around the turn of the 2280s, Krox discovered that chief geologist James Wedgewood was secretly mining a dilithium vein under the Kexor Grotto, and agreed to split the proceeds in exchange for supporting the colony's independence.
In 2283, when he was 44 years old, delegates from the warpshuttles USS Impala and IKV Intimidator approached the colony under the invitation of the Organians to take a citizen vote on choosing an alliance or becoming independent. He and Prefect Trisha Cochrain met the delegates on the outskirts of the capital city and escorted them to Medark Palace. The next day, the prefects gave the delegates a guided tour. At the behest of co-director Kexor sutai-Pallara, he passed along a message to Federation delegate Irenna Suparov.
On the fifth day, Krox failed to bribe delegates from both sides with dilithium to get them to leave, not knowing that Wedgewood also tried the same tactic.
Krox supported the continued neutrality of Sheridan's World but if forced to choose an alliance was far more likely to desire the colony go under Federation control rather than join the Klingon Empire. He preferred to remain on the planet no matter the outcome of the vote. (FASA RPG module: Conflict of Interests)
