Kuniko Mizuki was a Human woman who was the director of Vanguard colony.
In 2058, Vanguard was hurled two hundred light years from Earth after a warp field test went wrong. While Mizuki wanted to inform Earth of their survival, the distance to Earth would take a radio message two hundred years to get there. Mizuki herself was later killed when Nausicaan raiders beheaded her when they boarded Vanguard. (ST - The Lost Era novel: The Sundered)
