Kuri Dennings was a Human woman who lived in the 24th century. She was an ensign serving on the USS Enterprise-E

Biography[]

Early life[]

Dennings attended Starfleet Academy where her friends included Kelison, Stanley and Kra Celles. Dennings once went on a fishing holiday with her brother Tosh on Catualla. Their refrigeration unit malfunctioned causing their catch to freeze into blocks of lumpy grey ice they called ichtysicles. Seven months later in 2367 Tosh was killed in a cave-in. (DS9 - Avatar novel: Book One)

Starfleet career[]

By 2376 Dennings was an ensign serving on the USS Enterprise-E and had written an anthropological study on the Cardassian Occupation of Bajor. In April of that year she was invited to join an away team to an Occupation era Cardassian freighter, the Kamal, which the Enterprise had discovered in the Badlands. On the Kamal was the Orb of Memory which caused the away team to suffer flashbacks; Dennings remembered her time at the academy and most distressingly being woken in the night by a call from her father telling her of her brother's death. So harshly reliving those memories was distressing for Dennings. She had talked to Deanna Troi about it before and Troi arranged for new meetings following the orb experiences. (DS9 - Avatar novel: Book One)
