Kurrill Prime is a Class M planet located in a binary star system in the Gamma Quadrant. One of its sun is a F class star while the other is a G class star. The planet is the homeworld of the Vorta and a member of the Dominion. (ST reference: Star Charts)

Kurrill Prime had a central location within the Dominion. Moreover, it lay on the a direct path between the Bajoran wormhole and the Founders' homeworld. In fact, when a cloaked fleet of Obsidian Order and Tal Shiar ships was was sent through the wormhole to attack the Founders' homeworld in 2371, the fleet passed quite close to the planet and its system. However, no attempts were made to observe or contact Kurrill Prime. (ST reference: Star Charts, DS9 episode: "The Die is Cast")

At some time in its past, Kurrill Prime was visited by a Changeling who was being pursued by an angry mob. It is unknown if the mob were beings native to Kurrill Prime or had tracked the Changeling to the planet. Thankfully, the Changeling came across a family of Vorta who took him in and hid him from the mob.

Overwhelmed by this act of kindness, the Changeling promised the Vorta that they would have a position of power within the Dominion. The early Vorta were timid ape-like creatures who lived in hollowed out trees. The Vorta of the 24th century were humanoid in appearance which was the result of centuries of genetic engineering by their Changeling masters. (DS9 episode: "Treachery, Faith, and the Great River")

Very little was known of Kurrill Prime. It likely possessed some expanse of forests as, again, the Vorta were once ape-like creatures who dwelled in trees. The landscape was also probably abundant in nuts, fruits and berries as the later Vorta were heard to remark that they had little sense of taste beyond these three foods. This lack of taste was intended to be a reminder, by the Dominion Founders, of the Vorta's early past origins. Two foods that were possibly native to Kurrill Prime, and which the Vorta liked to eat, were kava nuts and the rippleberries. (DS9 episodes: "Treachery, Faith, and the Great River", "Favor the Bold")
