She gained qualified-level training in Klingon psychology and took intensive studies in computer operations. By the 2280s, she was a psychologist and medical technician who had attained the rank of ensign. Among Klingon colonists, she was the third luckiest, and also ranked highly in dexterity. In 2283, when she was 22 years old, each citizen's vote was taken to decide the colony's future. Kuvalex supported an alliance with the Klingon Empire but if forced to choose another option was slightly more likely to desire an alliance with the Federation over the continued neutrality of Sheridan's World.
