Kwejian was an inhabited world, a class M planet and homeworld of the Kwejian civilization. (DSC episode: "The Sanctuary")

History and specifics[]

Kwejian was home to endangered wildlife in the 32nd century. Following The Burn, the orbit of Kwejian's moon changed the planet's tides. This caused the sea locusts to come out of the oceans and eat the Kwejian's harvest. To combat the sea locusts the Kwejian were forced to make a deal with the Emerald Chain; sea locust repellant in exchange for Kwejian's trance worms. In the 3170s, Cleveland Booker felt compelled to leave his world but worked as courier to recover trance worms from the Emerald Chain. In 3188, Book and Commander Michael Burnham of Starfleet returned the trance worm Molly to Sanctuary Four in time for the breeding cycle. (DSC episode: "That Hope Is You, Part 1")

The USS Discovery confronted the Emerald Chain and liberated the Kwejians from Osyraa's influence later that year. They were also able to help Booker and Steward Kyheem in convincing the sea locust to return to the sea. (DSC episode: "The Sanctuary")

Five months after Osyraa's death, first its moon and then Kwejian itself were shattered completely by a gravitational anomaly. Booker observed the sudden destruction of Kwejian from a viewscreen. (DSC episode: "Kobayashi Maru")
