Kyle Anderson was a 23rd century Human man. He served in Starfleet as a Commandant of Starfleet Academy.
History[]
Anderson was a balding African American man with a gray beard.
Anderson was commandant in 2293 while Peter Kirk attended Starfleet Academy. When Peter mysteriously vanished just before finals, Anderson suspected he was kidnapped and reached out to Captain James T. Kirk. Anderson played Kirk the last message Peter received, a fake message from Kirk. After Nyota Uhura later received a coded ransom, Kirk asked that Anderson be notified.
Following Preston's rescue, Anderson supervised the cadet's Kobayashi Maru scenario, along with the bridge crew of the USS Enterprise-A. He interrupted the test, challenging Preston's use of electromagnetic signatures to detect cloaked vessels as well as his use of a Pre-Reformation Vulcan challenge to the attacking Romulan commander. When Spock confirmed that Preston's information was accurate, Anderson realized that the cadet had gained more experience than usual and promised to alter the simulation in future to eliminate those loopholes, but confirmed that Preston had beaten the no-win scenario. (TOS novel: Sarek)
- Anderson's rank was not specified in the novel.
