LA12-Kzinti-Giant-Killer

The Kzinti warship Giant Killer.

Kzinti warships were a type of warship/battlecruiser starship used by the Kzinti Patriarchy in the 21st century and illegally in the 23rd century.

History and specifics[]

21st century[]

EL4-Kzinti

21st century Kzinti warships.

Kzinti warships participated in the Earth-Kzin Wars as part of Kzinti assaults on the Sol system in the 2160s. The attacks were finally routed by DY-style starships equipped with an early warp engine developed by Zefram Cochrane. (TOS comic: "From Sputnik to Warp Drive")

The Treaty of Sirius subsequently forbade Kzinti from operating starships other than Kzinti police vessels such as Traitor's Claw. (TAS episode & Log Ten novelization: The Slaver Weapon)

23rd century[]

In 2259, Kzinti secretly occupied a Bebebebeque colony on Mimit and forced its engineers to help them build a secret space fleet of Kzinti fighters, warships, and high-powered ship-mounted armaments. The warship Giant Killer was propelled with an old-style warp engine with a maximum velocity near warp 3.8. Although its basic armaments were less advanced, being fitted with four laser banks and four particle beam cannons, it was heavily shielded and armed with a Hamstringer. In 2274, Giant Killer twice battled the Federation starship USS Enterprise. (TOS comic: "The Wristwatch Plantation")
