Lambda Boötis was a star with an associated star system, a type A blue-white star[1] located in the Maxia sector[2] and Alpha sector block[2] of the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant,[1] in the vicinity of 51 Pegasi.[1] It was visible from Sol in the constellation of Boötes.[1] (ST reference: Star Charts, STO - Future Proof mission: "Sunrise")

Lambda Boötis was located near Ferengi Alliance territory, with whom the Lukari Concordium had made first contact at some point before 2410. In that year, the Lukari made first contact with the Khitomer Alliance. (STO - Future Proof mission: "Sunrise")

Supported by their new allies, the Lukari commenced a mission of exploration of their stellar neighborhood. The Lambda Boötis system hosted only one planet, the green-hued class M world Lambda Boötis I. (STO - New Frontiers mission: "Echoes of Light")
